Odds and ends.

*  Blek and Dekker are still playing from sun-up till sun-down.  Blek ( the black colored one) surprised me the other day.  She does like attention but she outdid herself  as evidenced by her dive into the hottub  where she came and sat next to me and laid her head on my shoulder.   A truely romantic dog moment.   Great... 
*  I was so happy with the way the endive transplants were growing in the greenhouse.  Looked at them today, and they are bolting:  they are going straight to seed production, so they will notr form a good head of  endive.  Actually Endive is a 7 on a scale of 10 for bitterness and once a plant bolts it goes up 3 notches, so it will be unedible.  Think bolting has to do with uneven watering and temperature fluctuations.  I was looking forward to making, and I don't make this up,  foeks andijvie.  At least that is what my Ma calls it ,for recipe see:  http://supracurriculum.nl/2012/04/10/andijvie-stamppot-2/
*  I have to start about opening up my place to visitors and customers.   If I am to go and have a road side stand I would probably need a road.  Check.  But it needs some more gravel yet, and some blading, for which it needs to be a little drier. 
Really there are some strawberries outthere.  Joey, of course (!) steals some.  She really seems to think I just grow it to make her happy or something?  Show me the money baby!
Which brings me to the following saying:  it is easier to ask for forgiveness than permission.   Is that really true?
So if I want to chop a few shrubby trees down on my neighbors field I should ask first?  That seems so trite.  I would like that so I can put up a roadside sign that you can see all the way from Big Spring, pointing to that road of mine. 
*  Ma is coming over in 2 weeks, I had better get busy.  Got the shed cleaned out, but she isn't staying in the shed, bummer.   Got the hot tub cleaned too, but no...  Was going to have my car detailed, but no, that would be over the top.   I 'll be scrubbing the toilet one of those weeks.
* Found one haywagon to start building a chicken coup.  As soon as the grant money is in the bag, i.e. in the bag I am going to start ordering chicks.   Put an ad in the local paper looking for the second one, also, put up the house for rent.  So by June 1 it should be available.
* Oh, and I also have a job where I go to pay for all this hobbying.  Great place to work at the hospital.  The other week I was in the clean break room and someone had put out a bowl of M&M's.  I took a big handful and put them in my mouth and I felt this strange thing, like as if I had a cocklebur in my mouth,  next thing I know I feel an intense burn in my lip.  I spit everything out, including a wasp of an inch long.  My lip swelled up like the hunchback and the nurses gave me benadril.  Just what you need, at 3.30 at night.   Glad I didn't swallow it or I could have had to be intubated.
